I WILL say it was caused by a mis-hap with the finger nail clippers. And I will say it occurred during Sacrament meeting. (Why this particular parent was clipping finger nails during sacrament is beyond me...) And I will ALSO say that Miles started wailing right in the middle of someone's heart-felt testimony, and blood was dripping everywhere, and it ruined his cute church outfit. All attempts at first-aid were thwarted when the finger sucker would put his favorite finger in his mouth (the hurt one), suck off the band-aid, and continue to bleed everywhere.
the picture really doesn't do it justice. The whole tip of his finger was ALMOST clipped right off. But Miles is doing fine now. Infact, I think it was a little more traumatic for the parent who caused the injury. And from now on Mom does all the clipping.
And just to prove our little guy is alive and well, and happy as can be:

Tell Mike it is ok, I did the same thing, however, I did it at home and not at church. But those things never stop bleeding. Needless to say, that is why I still clip Trey's nails when he is asleep!
ReplyDeleteHello Sarah! This is Heather LaMont(was Smith a while back) anyways...I came across your blog from Melani's and just had to say hello! You have a beautiful family...and I was the parent with the clippers that clipped the finger and not the nail...it took quite a while before I was brave enough to attempt them again!
ReplyDeletePoor little guy! He looks so big in those pictures!
ReplyDeleteI don't know who to feel more sorry for, Miles who got hurt, you because a mother feels all of her childs pain, or Mike for accidently causing the pain. I love to see all the pictures even if they are all the same style.
ReplyDeleteI was always nervous to clip Ari's nails when she was little. Their fingers are so small. Poor baby! So, i'm still not quite sure which parent inflicted the wound. I just couldn't figure it out with all the hints. :)Your so funny.
ReplyDeleteThe poor little guy. I mean your husband (ha ha just kidding). but it is horrible when you are the one to make them sad, especially when they are so small and sweet. But seriously tell Mike that every child ever born has had a tramatic clipping experience, it's not an easy job. :)
ReplyDeleteI did that a few weeks ago to Trey. I'm not so scared to do it anymore, but Cody was always the one to do it when Lexi was a baby. Your little guy has the prettiest eyes in your pics. What a cutie.
ReplyDeleteOoh, I did that. I feel your pain. Addi's finger bled quite a bit but luckily she didn't cry. If she did I'm sure I would have been crying with her.
